Distributed Space Systems
Distributed space systems are the key to overcoming the limitations of single small satellites. A key technology to increase the operation efficiency of distributed satellite systems via formations or even autonomous swarms is the miniaturising
of inter-satellite communication technology.
So far, no multipoint cross-link mission using S-Band or even higher frequencies could be demonstrated based on nanosatellites. To push further the technological boundary of cross-communication of nanosatellites, the Chair of Space Technology is developing not only suitable communication payloads but also distributed nanosatellite missions.
