Die Mission

 Im Vorhaben S-Net sollen die methodischen, theoretischen und technischen Grundlagen für eine zuverlässige, moderne Intersatelliten-Kommunikation in autonomen verteilten Satellitensystemen untersucht und demonstriert werden. Anwendungen, für die im Rahmen der beantragten Forschungsinitiative neuartige Lösungen im Bereich der Kommunikation geschaffen werden und die potentiell von einer Schwarmformation profitieren können, sind u.a. Umwelt- und Klimaforschung, globale Frühwarnsysteme, Katastrophenmonitoring und -management, Verkehrsüberwachung, Tiefraumerkundung aber auch On-Orbit Servicing und planetare Robotik.

Das Experiment im Weltraum beinhaltet Test und Verifikation des entwickelten Funktransceivers zur Inter-Satellitenkommunikation SLink [7], welches in Kooperation mit der Fa. IQ wireless GmbH entwickelt wurde. Es verfügt über eine Geschwindigkeit von 100 kpbs für ISL und 1 Mbps für Downlink.
